Didn’t oppose alliance but priority was to build party: Luizinho

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Luizinho Faleiro on Wednesday said he was never opposed to an alliance with like-minded and secular parties to keep BJP at bay, but hastened to add that his priority in Goa was always to build and strengthen the party at the grass root level and made it a force to reckon with before the 2017 election.

He, however, expressed happiness and satisfaction that he has been able to achieve the mission of inducting 50 per cent new and young blood as party candidates in the forthcoming election.
Speaking to The Goan after his return from Delhi on Wednesday evening, Faleiro did not agree with the general perception that he was opposed to any sort of alliance with other parties. “I did not oppose alliance, but at the same time I had devoted my full attention and priority to build the party right from the grass root level. Today, I can say with satisfaction and with the Grace of God that I have been able to achieve my objective. This is evident from the fact that even the doubting Thomas’ who did not give any chance to the party are now making a beeline to join the party bandwagon,” Faleiro said.
