The gram sabha of Dramapur-Sirlim panchayat on Sunday proposed revision of house tax and light tax, even as members unanimously resolved that the panchayat propose to the concerned department the immediate replacement of old electricity overhead cables.

The gram sabha members also demanded to know from the chair the fate of the promise made by local MLA Benjamin Silva in respect of the replacement of the all electric wires in the village.

Members also raised the question over the presence of Reliance tower along the NH-17 at Jackniband. The sarpanch explained that a demolition notice has been served in this regards.

Gram sabha members unanimously resolved to reject the Investment Promotion Board. During discussion, they further pointed out that the eco tourism policy also overrides the role of the panchayat in granting permission. Terming the same as unconstitutional, members resolved to object and reject the IPB and the eco tourism policy.
