Speaking to The Goan from Delhi, Parsekar said that a decision in this regard was taken on Saturday. “The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests will send a formal letter to the Ministry of Environment and Forests in the coming days,” Parsekar said.
The Chief Minister has also asked the Water Resources and Forest Departments to demarcate on the ground the border between Goa and Karnataka.
“There is no border dispute as such between Goa and Karnataka and it is only a question of demarcation. The forest and water resources department have been asked to demarcate the border,” Parsekar said. The issue came to the fore after an hotelier on the Karnataka side put sandbags across the width of the river blocking the flow of water earning the ire of the Goa government.
