Duo injured in self-accident
MARGAO: Two individuals travelling on a scooter were injured in a self-accident reported at Varca.
According to Colva police, the accident occurred on April 14, when the rider of the scooter, one Aivon, a resident of Carmona, lost control over the scooter when he reached Varca and consequently, crashed it into an electric pole resulting in grievous injuries to himself and the pillion rider, one Ganesh, a resident of Margao.
Upon getting information, Colva police registered a case under Sections 279 and 338 of IPC.
Meanwhile, in another accident which occurred on April 14, at Power House junction, a tipper truck proceeding to Navelim knocked down a 60-year-old scooterist, one Joaquim, a resident of Paroda, thereby injuring him.
Margao police have registered an offence under sections 279 and 337 of IPC.
A 43 year-old native of U.P. died after drowning in a swimming pool at a hotel in Varca.
According to Colva police, the incident occurred on 14 April when the deceased, one Ashish, a resident of Noida (U.P.) and his friend were standing near a swimming pool of the hotel in Varca when the deceased suddenly collapsed and fell into the swimming pool. He was immediately brought out of the swimming pool and rushed to Hospicio Hospital where the doctors on duty declared him dead.
After the inquest panchnama, the body was preserved at T.B. Hospital, Margao. Margao police hvae registrered an offence under Section 174 of Cr.PC.
Curtorim local dies of injuries
MARGAO: A 55-year-old man, a resident of Curtorim, succumbed to injuries which he sustained in a self-accident at Raia.
According to Maina-Curtorim police, the deceased, one Jose, was undergoing treatment a Hospicio Hospital Margao for the injuries. He passed away on April 14.
After the inquest panchanama was conducted, the body was handed over to the next of kin of the deceased.
Maina-Curtorim police have registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC. ....
Theft at Madel flat
MARGAO: Unidentified culprits entered a flat at Madel in Margao and decamped with goods worth approximately Rs 1 lakh.
According to Margao town police, the incident occurred on Friday morning when unidentified culprits entered the apartment flat of one Ajit, after finding it open and decamped with a Motorola G2 mobile cell phone, two laptops and two watches, all worth approximately Rs 1 lakh.
Margao town police are investigating.
