Ram Navami celebrated in Margao
MARGAO:Ram Navami - the birth of maryada purshottam Shree Ram, which falls in the first month Chaitra of the Hindu alamanac, was celebrated with religious fervour in Margao on Friday. The main function was held at Shree Ram mandir on Abade Faria Road, where the cradle was held at the stroke of noon. Amidst singing of lullabies hailing the birth, a miniature idol of Lord Shree Ram was introduced in the cradle.
'Suhasinis' around the cradle celebrated the occasion with aaratis and the traditional worship of the Lord with an oil lamp. Flowers were offered by devotees who lined up at the temple and performed Pradakshinas around the cradle and also shook the cradle to pay obeisance. They were later offered prasad in the form of blessings.
