In response to the ongoing heavy rains and resultant flooding in Bardez, Deputy Collector Kabir Shirgaonkar convened a crucial meeting with administrative officers under Disaster and Emergency Management on Tuesday.
The meeting aimed to coordinate efforts and assess the situation, ensuring a swift and effective response to the crisis.
Among the attendees were Deputy Collector Pandurang Gad, Divisional Officer Manohar Parwar, Fire Brigade Officer Ganesh Govekar, and other key officials. The session focused on reviewing the current status of the affected areas and formulating action plans to mitigate the impact of the flooding.
Given the increased rainfall and its effects, the Deputy Collector issued necessary instructions to all administrative officials to enhance their preparedness and response measures.
A detailed report was also requested from the Water Resources Department regarding the flood-like situation in Tivim, aiming to understand the causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
