Lakeview Goaves Hospital, Belagavi, Medical Director and CEO Dr Shashikant Kulgod has appealed to people to be eco-warriors and form eco clubs to save the planet and environment. He was speaking on the occasion of the World Health Day at the Lakeview Goaves Hospital.
Based on this year’s theme ‘Our Planet Our Health’, the day was observed with the inauguration of a terrace garden atop the hospital building. Retired horticulture officer K S Patil inaugurated the terrace garden by watering a plant.
"Over 4,000 patients were treated at the Lakeview Goaves hospital for Covid-19 with higher success rate. Frequent in person rounds by consultants reaching out to the patients was the highlight of the services rendered to patients in contrast with online consultation, which was experienced by them in other hospitals before reaching Lakeview,” said Dr Kulgod, highlighting the services rendered by the Lakeview team during the Covid pandemic.
Two years down the line, citizens from a cross section of the society, which included noted personalities, recovered from Covid and many of them narrated their experiences in the hospital.
Many patients expressed how important the physical human touch was for their recovery.
“When even close relatives were scared to touch us, the staff and doctors at Lakeview hospital looked after us with immense dedication holding our hands, cleaning us, etc.,” remarked a grateful Covid survivor.
The Covid survivors were felicitated by offering them a flower plant.
Retired city engineer Devendra Halagi, Prakash Kulkarni, Geeta Kaddi and others narrated their experiences and assured that they would always be at service and assistance to Lakeview team in future. Two years down the line, Covid survivors interacted with their caregivers. It was deeply emotional experience for both.
Dr K S Mane, Dr Pradeep Vagrali, Dr Anand Sanakal, Dr Govind Hancinmani and others were present on the occasion.
