NEW DELHI /
LIVE Viacom18 announced in a statement the strategic decision to host the fourth edition of its live property in Pune. The three-day festival is scheduled to take place from February 10 next year.
Supersonic earned a reputation of being a livewire pre-New Year’s party with its venue in Goa. Its past editions attracted international artistes and music fans from across the world.
But several media reports suggested that the Goa government has decided to not allow Supersonic and Sunburn electronic dance music (EDM) festival, which is held at Candolim and Vagator respectively, during the peak season -- December 15 to January 15.
And the change in venue seems to be a outcome of the government’s decision, but Saugato Bhowmik, Head, LIVE Viacom18, calls it an “ongoing journey”.
“Carrying a legacy of offering the best in dance music, we are excited to host the upcoming edition of Vh1 Supersonic in Pune. Deeply rooted in culture and traditions, the city is known for its openness towards modern influences and thought. Pune is a seamless blend of local culture and global influences, thereby making it an apt destination for the upcoming edition of Vh1 Supersonic,” Bhowmik said.
