Cortalim Congress leader Olencio Simoes on Sunday said the people must get their candidate elected to help save the village from destructive projects.
"We have the ZP bypoll and we have got a very tremendous response," said Simoes.
"Goencho Ekvott has already taken over the Velsao panchayat and got the majority of panchas elected and we now plan to get a good ZP candidate elected because our candidate is young, educated and engineer by profession, and we are into politics not for self-interest but the betterment of the village."
"The opposition has already started to get frustrated and has now begun taking petty issues against us but we will ensure that our candidate wins this election," said Simoes.
