MARGAO
Bypoll for the Davorlim ZP seat was peaceful as the election recorded 50.52 per cent on Sunday.
Polling for the Davorlim seat started on a dull note but picked up later in the day before the constituency recorded 50.52 per cent polling.
Heated arguments were seen near a polling booth between Aam Aadmi party candidate Siddesh Bhagat and his supporters with the police as they alleged that the BJP workers were found assembled within the 200-metre zone.
While the BJP camp appeared upbeat after the polling, with party candidate Paresh Naik exuding confidence in victory, both the Congress candidate Leon Raikar and AAP's Bhagat said the percentage of polling will decide the fate of the candidates.
BJP state president Sadanand Tanavade, who was in Margao on Sunday evening said the party is all set to win all three seats, which went to the bypolls on Sunday.
MLA Ulhas Tuenkar also exuded confidence that the BJP will retain the seats hands down, saying the BJP will score a hattrick in Davorlim.
