Acting on directives of the high court, the Verla-Canca Panchayat cleared encroachments on the footpath along the Mapusa-Parra road at Canca.
The government has undertaken a four-lane road widening cum footpath construction project between Parra and Mapusa.
The High Court had already issued orders for the removal of encroachments which were hampering the road-widening work and action had been taken against these encroachments.
