A malfunctioning Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) led to a 30-minute delay at a polling booth in Shiroda.

According to reports, the EVM machine developed a technical problem when voting began at 7 am at the Polling Booth 23 in Waje-Shiroda.

Voters had to stand in a queue for about half an hour as officials worked to resolve the issue, before voting finally began at the polling booth at 7.30 am. After that, voting was conducted smoothly at the polling station.

Meanwhile, voting took place smoothly in Ponda and Dharbandora talukas, with queues of voters seen at the polling stations throughout the day. Voter turnout was consistently around 75% in all five constituencies of Shiroda, Ponda, Marcaim, Priol and Sanvordem.

Speaking to reporters after voting in Bandora, Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said the BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo will benefit from the alliance between MGP and BJP.

Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik also confirmed the victory of Pallavi, adding that the BJP would secure a big lead in Ponda constituency.
