Former Director of Information and Publicity, Menino Peres expired peacefully on Wednesday at his residence "Shristhal”, in Porvorim.

Peres worked in the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa in various capacities, including as Director of Information and Publicity from 2005 till his retirement in August 2012. Intermittently, he was Director of Official Languages, Government of Goa in 2008 for one year. He had a wonderful career in Mass Media of Goa.

Beginning his innings in Gomantak Pvt Ltd’s Sister Concern” Uzvadd” a Konkani daily, he shifted to the electronic media as News Reader on AIR, Panaji and then opted for development media as Branch Officer, Press Information Bureau, Government of India. He joined the Department of Information and Publicity in the year 1980 and subsequently rose to the top position.

Peres studied BA in Political Science from Bombay University, completed his LLB from Goa University.
