Ex-Fatorda MLA Cardozo’s kin Viviana joins Vibrant Margao

MARGAO
In an interesting development, the daughter of former three-time Fatorda MLA and ST leader Luis Alex Cardozo, Viviana Alex Cardozo has joined the BJP-backed Vibrant Margao group and will be the panel’s candidate for Ward No. 23 of the Margao Municipal Council.

After embracing the panel in the presence of BJP leaders, MP Vinay Tendulkar, party ST leaders Ramesh Tawadkar and Prabhakar Gaonkar and party general secretary and Vibrant Margao Chairman, Damu Naik, Viviana told the media that she has joined Vibrant Margao to do social service for the people of Ward No. 23. Reminding that her father, Luis Alex Cardozo had done honest work during his stint as MLA of Fatorda constituency, Viviana said she would like to work in the footsteps of her father. “I want to do something for the people of my ward,” she added.

Welcoming Viviana and a group of persons in the party, including ex-councillor Clara Fernandes and Livramenta Barretto, Damu came down heavily on Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai repeating his charge that the incumbent Fatorda MLA had failed to provide jobs to the unemployed youth and did not bring a single project in the constituency in the last 10 years. “The MLA was enjoying the status of de facto CM when Manohar Parrikar was down will illness. He should have thought of the unemployed youth of Fatorda. He should have brought projects in Fatorda when he was enjoying the status as Deputy CM, but he failed on the development front as well,” Damu charged.

On the contrary, Damu claimed that the MLA has gone for vertical development of Fatorda by going in for 300 FAR, demanding to know Fatorda has become saturated prompting the MLA to go for huge towers in the constituency.
