The Aam Aadmi Party has demanded an explanation from the government how it will provide the 10,000 jobs by November 30 as stated by the health minister recently, according to a press note.
In the press note, the AAP states that it strongly suspects that this will once again be a jumla where jobs for application will be opened up and then cancelled. AAP has already challenged the government to give just 1,000 jobs by the end of this year.
The AAP has over the past week highlighted how the government has completely failed Goa and it’s youth in providing jobs. Goan youth are being denied employment opportunities. Despite heavily investing in their education, they’re running from pillar to post for jobs to no avail, states the press note.
The AAP further states that before every election right from the ZP elections, the government has been promising 10,000 jobs to to Goans. But where are these jobs. No one has seen a single ad and the government is silent about how he plans to give these jobs out, states the press note.
AAP has also highlighted that even 400 health workers who risked their lives to serve Goans during Covid have not received their wages for the past 5 months, even though they are just on contract basis. The government that can’t pay 400 frontline warriors wants Goa to believe they can provide 10,000 new jobs, questioned AAP in the press note.
“The Health Minister and the Chief Minister should stop lying about giving jobs. AAP has already challenged the government to give not 10,000 but just 1,000 jobs by the end of this year. And these should be real jobs with selection formalities completed before the end of the year,” states AAP Goa convenor Rahul Mhambre.
