A family was evacuated in Revora while rivers in Bardez crossed the danger mark and several roads were submerged due to heavy rain over the last four days.
After water from the Tillari dam was released, water level at the Chapora river began to rise and areas along the banks at Revora, Ranyache Juvem, Nadora, Pirna and Colvale got flooded. The Revora-Nadora road was also submerged.
Water entered a house near Shri Vetal temple at Mokharaiwada-Revora and five family members, Madhuri Haldankar, Janki Haldankar, Mayur Haldankar, Siddesh Haldankar and Mohan Haldankar, residing along the riverbanks at Revora were evacuated by a rescue team and shifted to safety.
A portion of the NH66 highway at Green Park junction was flooded disrupting traffic along the route. Traffic Cell Inspector Tushar Vernekar and his police team later diverted traffic via Parra-Guirim, Saligao and Sangolda.
Water levels at the Assonora-Par river also rose sharply and entered some houses at Maytem, Par and Assonora.
The Tar-Mapusa river was also flowing above the danger mark and water flooded the house of Subhash Chari. Water from the Tar river even reached Guirim and Bastora.
