To create awareness on eating right and being healthy, FDA organised the third edition of their Eat Right Mela, a healthy food festival at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, on the theme Eat Right today for Healthy Tomorrow.
The programme was inaugurated at the hands of Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, secretary, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, in the presence of Collector South Goa, Asvin Chandru IAS and Chief Officer Margao Municipal Council, Gouresh Shankhwalkar.
More than 20 stalls showcased various healthy food items. There was demonstration of healthy recipes by Taj Exotica, Benaulim. FOSTAC training for the mid-day meal suppliers and session on nutrition was held for the consumer clubs. Competition on healthy recipes was held for the chefs in two categories - professional and non-professional. The food business operators who had obtained Hygiene Rating Certification were felicitated at the event. Goa Medical College and hospital was felicitated with the Eat Right Campus Certification.
