The Carmelites from all over Goa gathered at the ruins of the Carmelite Monastery in Old Goa to celebrate the feast of Blessed Redemptus and Blessed Dionysius, on Tuesday.
The Feast is celebrated every year on November 29 to commemorate the martyrdom of the two Carmelites who had stayed at the Old Goa monastery in the 17th Century.
However, the feast could not be celebrated in the past two years due to pandemic.
Carmelites from Xelim, Mapusa, Chicalim, Chimbel, Old Goa, and Margao participated in the Feast Mass.
Fr Theo was the main celebrant at the Feast Mass while Fr Fantino delivered the homily in which he explained how Blessed Redemptus and Blessed Dionysius gave up their worldly positions and were martyred for the sake of Jesus Christ.
