The felicitation will be held at the hands of Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at Campal Ground, Panaji, on Sunday.
“Gadkari and Shah will arrive in the State on Sunday evening. The function has been organised in honour of our National President under whose leadership we have been achieving success across the country,” said State BJP General Secretary Sadanand Shet Tanawade.
State BJP has also invited all its alliance partners for the function. While Goa Forward has decided to stay away from the function, Independent MLA Govind Gaude said he would attend the function as he has been invited for it.
Speaking to The Goan, Goa Forward leader and TCP Minister Vijai Sardessai expressed satisfaction over the invitation.
“We have been invited. It is their internal party function. Let them have it. We are happy that they have invited us but it has nothing to do with the alliance. It is something to do only with the ruling party. Tomorrow if they invite me for NDA meeting in Delhi, I would consider going there and putting up issues related to Goa. But if it is an internal BJP meeting, then I think it is better to stay away because we have not joined the BJP,” he said.
