According to Pilerne fire station officials, they received a call at about 6.15 pm stating that fire broke out on the ground floor flat belonging to Rama Naik.
The fire officials rushed to the spot with fire tender. Since there was no one in the flat, the fire personnel broke open the door of the flat and extinguished the fire.
Electrical goods, furniture, refrigerator and other items were destroyed in the fire. The exact cause of fire and loss is yet to be ascertained, said the fire officials.
