Firefighters rescue man stuck in cement blocks on Anjuna beach

Firefighters rescued a tourist whose leg got trapped between cement blocks at Anjuna beach on Friday evening.

The Karnataka-based tourist, Allwyn D’Souza (33) along with a friend was walking on the beach when his leg got suddenly stuck between two cement blocks.

The cement blocks were installed along the shoreline to protect it from soil erosion.

Mapusa firefighters received a call at around 6.30 pm informing that one person’s leg had been stuck between cement blocks along the sea side at Anjuna.

A team of fire personnel rushed to the shore and rescued the man by using hydraulic tools.
