First Semester Exam for Class IX students from December 7

PANAJI

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) on Tuesday announced the conduct of the first semester examination for Class IX students, who failed to appear for the October test, from December 7.

The Board had earlier this month sought details of the students who were unable to appear for the examination on medical grounds, due to sports events, or for any other genuine reasons.

Accordingly, the Board has now decided to conduct the first semester examination for these students from December 7 to 14. The paper will include 40 marks for Multiple Choice Questions and another 40 marks for subjective questions. The assessment of answer books has to be undertaken by the schools, and the same has to be shown to the students.

Following the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) for Grade 9 from this academic term, the Goa Board conducts the semester examinations, which are split into two”one held in October and the second scheduled for April 2025.

The examination will commence with the English paper and conclude with the Sanskrit or Konkani paper.
