Govt launches month-long Ayurveda medicine drive

A month-long campaign in Ayurvedic treatment was launched on Tuesday, during which government health centres and hospitals will provide consultations on a daily basis.

The ‘Desh ka Prakriti’ campaign will feature 982 Ayurveda practitioners giving consultations, and around one lakh people are expected to benefit from the campaign, Health Secretary Arun Kumar, IAS, said.

Kumar also launched the new Prakriti Parikshan app, through which patients and doctors will be able to communicate.

The campaign is a nationwide initiative being conducted by the Ayush Ministry in association with the health departments of states.

Kumar, who was addressing the media in the presence of the Director of Health, Dr Vandana Dhume, and other officials, said nearly one crore patients will be attended to throughout the country as part of the campaign.
