Five booked for assault in Nuvem

The Maina Curtorim police have arrested five persons from different places in Salcete in connection with the assault on a shop owner at Nuvem on September 19.

The five persons were arrested by the police upon the complaint of Edmond Gregoria Colaco, a resident of Belloy-Nuvem after five persons tried to effect entry into his shop by opening the shutter.

After hearing the sound, the complainant rushed towards the shop only to be brutally assaulted by the five accused persons with a hard object on his head by wrongfully restraining him and further threatening him with dire consequences to kill. They fled from the spot.
