Among a series of initiatives undertaken to ease the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), the upcoming Purple Fest will hold a free health assessment camp for the registered beneficiaries during the three-day event on January 6-8, 2023.
The Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and Directorate of Social Welfare in association with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO) on Wednesday announced about organizing Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/ Fitting of Aids and Appliances camp (ADIP Camp) as part of the Fest at ESG campus.
“The national level camp is being held in order to promote their physical, social and psychological rehabilitation by reducing the effects of disabilities and enhancing their economic potential,” State Commissioner for PwDs, Gurudas Pawaskar said.
Vipin Singh Rawat, Finance Executive, ALIMCO stated that a batch of doctors will be present with their team to assess the health of the registered PwD.
“A special distribution camp of the devices to eligible beneficiaries will be undertaken, two months after the ensuing assessment camp,” Rawat added.
The eligibility criteria for this programme includes holding a 40 per cent and above disability and certificate from authorized medical board/UDID; certified annual income proof of Rs 2.70 lakh and below, and Aadhar Card.
