PANAJI:
Speaking to The Goan, Monserrate said that he arrived at the decision in order that there not be any ‘disturbance’.
“Yes, after discussing with several people I have decided that Furtado will be the mayor. There should not be any disturbance,” Monserrate said.
When contacted Furtado said the decision has not been ‘officially’ communicated to him.
Monserrate said that he intended to keep Furtado as mayor for the whole term depending on his performance as a mayor. “At the end of the day we want performance on the development front,” Monserrate said.
