Strategy did not work: KamatMARGAO
Congress leader and former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said that not just Independent MLA Vijai Sardesai, but everyone who had come together to corner the government on burning issues during the Assembly session were left disappointed with the way things unfolded in the Assembly.
Echoing the sentiments expressed by Sardesai over his disappointment with the coordinated action by the Opposition in the House, Kamat said the Fatorda MLA has expressed his sentiments, adding that everyone was disappointed with the outcome of the coordinated action.
Asked to name people who were responsible for the G-8 failure, Kamat said Vijai has not named anyone personally, adding “I have nothing to say against any individual MLA”.
According to Kamat, everything well as planned on the first day of the Session, but questions that were planned to be raised jointly by the group somehow did not come up for discussion. “We had planned the strategy in such a way that the government is cornered on the burning issues. Somehow, the strategy did not work. I do not want to name any particular individual for the situation”, Kamat added.
Meanwhile, Kamat on Sunday tweeted that all the secular anti-BJP forces should come together in the interest of Goa ahead of the coming election.

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) spokesman Reginaldo Lourenco, has said that he does not believe there was total disappointment in the performance of the G-8 in the just concluded session, saying the Congress group played its due role as planned by the group.
“I am not totally disappointed by the performance of the group. Our Congress members did play its designated role as planned by the G-8. I think it was not a total disappointment”, Reginaldo said, contrary to the views expressed by the Independent MLA Vijai Sardesai and Congress MLA Digambar Kamat.
That’s not all. He said that the Independent MLA should not have made the remark on disappointment in public, but should have expressed his views within the G-8 forum. “Sardesai may have his point of view. We are all together in opposing the BJP. But, when you make statements expressing your disappointment in public, there’s bound to be reaction from other members. We are all here to take on the BJP and to forge opposition unity”, Reginaldo said.
Saying that he is one MLA who had neither sat with former Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar nor incumbent Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar while playing the role of an Opposition, Reginaldo said “when you point one finger at others, you should know that four fingers are pointed at you”.
