A delegation from the Goa Chamber of Commerce and industries (GCCI) met Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) Chairman Dr N Vinodkumar and provided inputs and suggestions on development of port infrastructure.
The GCCI delegation consisted of Chandrakant Gawas (Chairman Logistics Committee), Manubhai Thakker (Co-Chairman), Sanjay Amonkar (Director General), Sanket Kaskar (Co-ordinator) and Atul Jadhav (Member).
In a press note, GCCI Logistics Committee Chairman Chandrakant Gawas said the industry is facing a lot of difficulties due to the lack of infrastructure at MPA.
“The committee has also spoken to various stakeholders to start the movement of cargo from MPA for exports but most stakeholders prefer to transport their cargo by road and JNPT due to the lack of facilities available at MPA.”
“GCCI had previously made representation regarding the development of the Mormugao Port infrastructure but no proper action has been taken on the same.”
