GPCC President Girish Chodankar has tested positive for Covid and the party has appealed to those who may have come in contact with Chodankar to get themselves tested.
"While busy in his political campaigning work, Girish had mild fever-like symptoms two days before and so, he immediately decided to test himself and opted to be in home isolation. After that, results of the test came Covid positive,” said GPCC Vice-President Amarnath Panajikar.
The party has appealed to all those who were with Chodankar to isolate and get tested if they show any Covid-like symptoms.
Chodankar on Friday had participated in a morcha towards the Raj Bhavan and had also convened a news conference before being tested positive.
Panajikar said Chodankar health is well and presently does not have any symptoms of Covid.
“Chodankar is monitoring the party’s political work from home while our party network is working in full swing.”
“The GPCC vice-president, general secretary and Goa state incharge are directing the cadre. The elections management cell and social media cells are doing their work effectively without getting affected by the physical absence of Girish,” said Panajikar.
Congress MLA Digamber Kamat disclosed in his tweet that Chodankar had tested positive.
"My prayers for speedy recovery of GPCC President Girish Chodankar who has tested positive for Covid,” stated Kamat.
