Among the major announcements, GFP stressed on the need to organise Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival under the aegis of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) so as to provide quality entertainment to Goan youth while also ensuring that funds are retained within the bounds of the State.
Speaking at GFP Panaji, party president Prabhakar Timble stated, “The 42-point manifesto is aimed at creating Goa dreamt of by the youth and seeks to promote empowerment and Goanness. Stress has been laid on creation of opportunities so that Goa can be a land of opportunities.”
The manifesto focuses on employment, entrepreneurship, education, sports, physical education, music and theatre.
Skill development and promotion of self-employment has received special attention in the agenda. Proposals include institution of a business development corporation for youth, agriculture and horticulture estates, boost to IT start-ups, vertical estates for service sector promotion and hubs for traditional crafts.
Several institutes and colleges named after eminent Goan personalities have been proposed to promote agriculture, horticulture, para-medical and para-engineering courses, sports medicine, music and theatre along with creation of stadia for football across the State.
Speaking about the funding for such infrastructural projects, Timble stated, “These can be pursued from 2017 and achieved by 2022 by reducing wasteful expenditure.”
The manifesto also stresses the need to enact a Goa Sound Act suited to local conditions and repeal of the Madhya Pradesh Sound Act, which is presently in force.
