The Goa police team laid their hands on crucial evidence as they camped in Hisar on the third day of the probe on Friday in connection with Sonali Phogat's death.
Sources told The Goan that the team led by Crime Branch Inspector (Goa Police) seized three diaries belonging to Phogat from her residence, and sealed a digital locker in the presence of the deceased BJP leader's family.
It has been reliably learnt that Phogat maintained records of financial transactions, money invested in other states including Haryana, appointments and contact numbers of some politicians and bureaucrats.
The police team, assisted by its Haryana counterparts, was expected to visit Gurugram where Phogat had recently hired an apartment with accused Sudhir Sangwan. However, the plan changed and the investigation team returned to her home to collect additional evidence. They visited the Tehsildar on the second day on Friday. Her farmhouse was also scanned.
Phogat, it is said, had recently returned from a 15-day international trip and in her absence, Sangwan took possession of her locker, wherein her relevant documents and Gurugram house keys were kept. The Phogat family has suspected more over the mysterious death than revelation surfacing in the current line of investigation. The family has also sought a CBI probe while the Goa government said they are satisfied with the ongoing speedy probe.
