Issues like early resumption of mining in the State, Special Status for Goa to protect the sale of land and scrapping of the controversial 2019 CRZ regulation top the election manifesto of Shiv Sena South Goa candidate Rakhi Naik.
Launching her election manifesto in the presence of party leaders, Rakhi said that she would work to ensure quick resumption of mining by following the matter with the Centre. While promising to protecting the livelihood of the mining dependents, Rakhi has assured to stand by the mining dependents till the issue is solved.
Saying that she would work for a mining policy which would be vetted by the Centre, Rakhi said the Centre would provide minimum support to the mining dependents through this policy in the event the industry collapses.
“My election manifesto is not a jumla, but contains promises to Goemkars of Goemkarponn. If elected, the Shiv Sena will work to get Special Status for Goa by providing protection on the sale of land,” she said.
Coming out in favour of casino-free water bodies in the State, Rakhi said a total ban on all off-shore casinos will be imposed in the state by amending the law concerned, adding that the existing casinos will be given a time frame of three months to move out.
She said Goa would not be allowed to be used as a transit point to dump coal, saying Vasco would be made a completely coal-pollution free city. On River Mhadei, she said complete protection would be provided to the river from any kind of diversion. While promising 100 per cent reservation for locals in central government jobs, Rakhi, however, could not specify how.
