Goa sweats; early respite unlikely

PANAJI: The isolated unseasonal showers that the state witnessed over the last few days have had no effect on the weather with Goa’s maximum temperature continuing the to tip the scales recording a hot 34°C.
The all India weather forecast revealed that Maximum temperatures are above normal (1.6
°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Konkan and Goa; at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch and Coastal Karnataka.
The weatherman has forecast that the high temperatures will continue at least over the next five days.
The highest temperature was recorded at Panaji and Mormugao of 33.8 °C which according to the meteorological department is one degree above normal.
Of concern are the evening temperatures which even when recorded at 5:30 in the evening are recording temperature above 30°C with Thursday recording a evening 5:30 temperature at 32°C.
Humidity levels continue to remain high at 77% with late evening humidity levels being recorded at 61% which are both considered below normal.
The weather in Goa is expected to remain dry over the next five days in Goa keeping temperatures around 34°C.
