The Goa government will organise a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026’ from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in executive public office, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced on Wednesday.

The campaign, centred on Modi’s birthday on September 17, will feature programmes across schools, colleges, panchayats, municipalities, Assembly constituencies and public venues.

Sawant said the initiative would highlight developmental and welfare schemes undertaken during Modi’s tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and Prime Minister, while promoting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Under ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’, beneficiaries of schemes such as PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Startup India and Stand-Up India will light seven lamps at 7 pm on September 17 as a gesture of support for the Prime Minister.

Schools and higher secondary institutions will host drawing, sketching and elocution competitions under ‘Seva Chitra’ and ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat’, with students showcasing developmental projects including Manohar International Airport, the Super Speciality Hospital, Zuari Bridge and Porvorim Elevated Corridor.

Colleges and Ganesh Utsav mandals will organise street plays and theatre competitions under ‘Seva Smaran and ‘Namo Seva’. Regional conventions for Anganwadi and ASHA workers will also be held across three districts.

The campaign will include social media initiatives, cleanliness drives at Amrit Sarovars and heritage sites, and ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ outreach camps across all 40 constituencies to facilitate access to government schemes.

Other programmes include Seva Jyoti/Kalash Yatras, a Vadnagar-to-Varanasi motorcycle rally, AI and IT hackathons, rangoli competitions and good governance conventions involving local representatives.

Sawant urged Goans to participate enthusiastically in the programmes, which will involve various government departments, Ministers, MLAs and senior officials.
