PANAJI: The Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) has approved a portfolio of investment proposals worth approximately Rs 622 crore, expected to generate around 3,180 employment opportunities.
The approvals were granted at the 42nd Goa-IPB Board Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today, in the presence of Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho, GIDC Chairman and MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, and other Board members.
The approved projects cover sectors including manufacturing, hospitality, education, electronics, shipbuilding and emerging technologies. The proposals include automotive component manufacturing, optical instruments, electronics and technology development centres, advanced fabrication units, hospitality projects, educational institutions and Global Capability Centre (GCC) infrastructure.
The Chief Minister said the projects would help strengthen Goa’s investment ecosystem while creating employment opportunities.
The Board also deliberated on the proposed Large-Scale Industries Incentive Scheme, which was formulated after consultations with industry stakeholders, investors and government officials. The scheme will now be forwarded for further evaluation and approval.
“The Government remains committed to creating an industry-friendly ecosystem that fosters innovation, attracts quality investments, generates employment and accelerates Goa’s journey towards a Swayampurna Goa,” Sawant said.
