MAPUSA
“People of Goa are looking for change but the fear of political retaliation is holding them back to come out and openly support the Aam Aadmi Party,” Mann said.
Referring to Arvind Kejriwal’s rally at Campal on May 22, he said the fear of the people will vanish after Kejriwal’s rally in the State.
Mann was speaking to the media after opening the AAP’s seventh office in Mapusa in the presence of AAP’s national secretary Pankaj Gupta, national executive member Dinesh Vaghela, State convener Rajashree Nagarsekar and others.
He said the 2017 assembly election in Goa will be historic not only for Goans but for AAP as well.
He said AAP’s campaign in Punjab was going on in full swing and people in the State were very happy with the party.
“I am sure AAP will get 100 seats out of 117 in Punjab, and we may even do better and win all the seats,” he added.
He referred to most of the national surveys which gave AAP the top spot in Punjab.
Pankaj Gupta, AAP’s national secretary, said the party has still not applied its mind on the selection of candidates in the State.
“As of now, we were concentrating on building the party in Goa. We will contest to form the government. We may contest all 40 or somewhere close to that figure. It all depends on getting the right candidate,” he informed.
Earlier, the Punjab MP inaugurated the party’s Mapusa office at Khorlim.
“The office will facilitate people of Mapusa and surrounding areas to meet and discuss issues and to join as members of the party,” Gupta said.
“We are attempting to open an office in every constituency. Up to June end, we will open at least 30 offices all over Goa,” he said further.
AAP treasurer Rahul Mhambrey and members Pradip Amonkar and Shriniwas Khalap among others were present for the inauguration of the office.
