Goans, not high command will decide State’s future: Kejriwal

Sending a clear-cut message that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa will be in the hands of the locals, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said the people of Goa will decide what is good for them and not the high command.

“The only way to stop the sway of the high command is to share power with each and every Goan. If Kejriwal or the chief minister takes the decision then it will give rise to corruption. Let the people of Goa decide what they want,” Kejriwal said emphatically adding, “Goa is yours. You will have to run it.”
The Delhi chief minister was speaking at a function organized by the party to hold a dialogue with small hotel and guesthouse owners at Calangute Association Hall in Calangute.
Making it clear that the consent of the local people will be crucial for any projects to take shape in the State, he said: “Gram Sabhas will decide and not the sarpanch, which projects are good for Goa.”
Emphasizing that the manifesto for the 2017 State assembly polls will be prepared by the Goans, AAP’s national convenor said most parties after assuming power tend to forget their manifesto.
“For some parties, manifesto may be a jumbla but for AAP the party’s manifesto is the Bible, Koran and Gita,” Kejriwal said. “What is said will be accomplished along with your support,” he added.
Asserting that illegalities carried by leaders of other parties have ruined the State, he said Goa needed governance that was corruption-free.
