BELAGAVI
People of Goa will now have an easier access to Belagavi city as the long-awaited inauguration of the railway overbridge is being inaugurated on Wednesday.
Govind M Karajol, Minister of Major & Medium Irrigation and District In-charge Minister of Belagavi, will inaugurate the bridge in presence of Belgaum MP Mangala Suresh, Iranna Kadadi and others.
The work on the bridge was sanctioned and inaugurated by former union minister late Suresh Angadi three years ago, but the work was delayed due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
This had resulted in heavy traffic jams at the third railway gate, causing inconvenience to customers and visitors from Goa.
"While we fondly remember late Suresh Angadi on the occasion, I am happy that the inconvenience will finally be over," MP Mangala Angadi said.
Senior officials from South Western Railway will also be present at the inaugural ceremony.
