“If there is one thing that is common in this government it’s the affection for Goa. You may call it ‘Goemkarponn’ or love for the birth place or anything… On this issue, there is no difference whatsoever between me or Vijay, Sudin, Rohan or anyone else…,” Parrikar said. The chief minister was addressing at a public function organised to felicitate Water Resources Minister, Vinod Palyekar at the Chivar grounds in Anjuna on Sunday.
He said there was something very unique about Goa and it was that
uniqueness that brought him back to the State.
“I got an opportunity to come back to Goa…for this to happen, I got the cooperation of Vijay, Vinod and Jayesh… I am thankful to them,” he said.
Parrikar assured that this government would
remain intact for five years and would work with speed.
According to Parrikar, some people were spreading canards that the government had failed to take any action on the alcohol ban.
“I did not want to go for a court intervention in a hurry and waste an opportunity. Goa’s background is
different and for that we need to carry out proper documentation and put it before the apex court,” he said.
