In the recently-concluded elections to elect the Managing Committee of the South Goa Advocates Association, Adv Rajeev Gomes has been re-elected as president of the Association.

He secured 186 votes out of total 262 votes polled, to defeat his rival Adv Vivek Vas. Adv Amey Prabhudessai won against Judas Chagas Silva by 67 votes to be elected to the post of vice-president. Adv Antonio Clovis da Costa was elected unopposed as Secretary. Adv Priyesh Madkaikar was elected to the post of treasurer winning against Adv Rupesh Velip and Ravindra Tilve, securing 150 votes. Adv Bhaskar Tari, Adv Kashinath Dessai, Adv Vinay Patkar, Adv Sohan Desai and Adv Savio Noronha were elected unopposed as members representing Margao, Canacona, Quepem, Sanguem and Vasco. Adv Lea Diniz was elected unopposed as the ladies representative.

The Association has planned a host of development activities to improve the working conditions of advocates and speedy dispensation of justice to litigants.
