Good governance in two months: Khaunte

Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte on Thursday said the coalition government was keen to give good governance to the public by delivering time-bound services.

Khaunte visited the Mamlatdar office in Ponda and reviewed the work system in place. “This is a routine visit to check whether we can deliver the services with the present infrastructure,” Khaunte told media persons.   
When asked whether there are any issues in Ponda office, Khaunte said the back-up needed to deliver the services exist in Ponda office and if any issues arise they will be addressed. “The coalition government is keen to give good governance to the public and in another two months, it will become reality,” he said.   
Khaunte also inspected the ongoing work on the administration building at Dharbandora. MLA Deepak Pawaskar, Dharbandora Sarpanch Balaji Gauns, additional collector Damodar Morajkar, chief architect Melvin Gomes, deputy collector Agnelo Fernandes, Mamlatdar Laxmikant Kurtikar, AE PWD Desmond Cardozo and others were present.   
Khaunte directed the contractor to speed up the pending civil works, so that offices of deputy collector, Mamlatdar and others can be shifted in the new premises.

Inquiry into working conditions of cops at Colva, Old Goa: GHRC

The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) on Friday directed the Secretary of the Commission to inspect and verify within 15 days the working and living conditions of the cops posted at the Old Goa and Colva police stations and to submit a detailed report within 30 days.
