The Society of Pilar (Pilar Fathers) organised a Christmas celebration “Prerna” at Guardian Angel Institute hall, Curchorem, on Tuesday.
Conveying the Christmas message as Chief Guest, Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai said Jesus had dedicated his life for the downtrodden and added that Pope Francis has also given importance to the poor and downtrodden through his simple and austere lifestyle.
Later, he interacted with the priests during the high tea hosted in his honour and in the presence of Guest of Honour, PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral, and Vicar-General of Society of Pilar Fr Steevan D’Souza, Chairman of Xaverian Educational Society Fr Mateus Fernandes, Local Superior Fr Romeo D’Silva, Fr Jerry Vaz, Assistant Parish Priest of Guardian Angel Church Fr Jovier Baretto and former GPCC President Girish Chodankar.
Students from the science section of Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem also performed a special Malayalam carol.
