Govt must be transparent, end current ‘limbo’: Cong

The Congress in Goa has demanded that the Goa Government end the current ‘limbo’ that it currently finds itself in and hand over the Chief Minister’s charge to another person in the interest of the state.
“There are so many issues pending. How are they going to solve the present mining crisis? If he cannot do his duties, he should hand over the job to his other colleagues. If he doesn’t do it, it means that he does not have faith in many of his ministers and MLAs. There was no need for him to rush to Goa for the budget,” Shantaram Naik said.
He questioned the Chief Minister’s decision to take a huge health risk and present a‘portion’ of the budget.
“What compelled him to come to Goa and read some portion of the budget? Come out openly and tell us what you are going to do. Who is going to take charge of the department of mines and home ministry?” Naik asked.
Naik also said that the people of Goa need to know what their CM is going through. “I would like the government and the party to be transparent about his health. If Goa is to be run effectively, who will execute works? Is there a decision making authority for the 20 portfolios that the CM holds?” Naik asked.
“I don’t think they are transparent, I see inconsistencies,” Naik said. “It will be better if things were more transparent. He must introspect and ask himself if he can run the government from his house or from his hospital.”
“The mining minister is not there at all and it is very difficult to run the department. Thousands of workers are unemployed, small traders are unemployed, workers on trucks are jobless. What is the roadmap to solve this issue? Obviously, the CM is not in a position,” Naik said.
