Govt now eyes land for IIT campus at Canacona

 Vivek Kamat told The Goan that the fate of the IIT project in Goa will depend on the inspection of the Canacona site by IIT officials in April. “The government has identified land at Canacona for the proposed IIT in Goa. A delegation of IIT officials will be coming down to Goa in April for inspection of the land. If found suitable, the Goa government will initiate the process of taking possession of the land either through acquisition or executing a lease deed,” he said. Replying to a question, Kamat informed that the IIT will commence the institute in the State at Farmagudi from the next academic year if the land that has been identified at Canacona finds favour with the IIT delegation visiting the state next month.
