Govt spent Rs35.3 cr on Assembly poll

The state government has spent Rs 35.3 crore on assembly elections, which were held in February 2017. The expenditure on 2017 elections was 13.6% more than that on 2012 elections, which stood at Rs 31.1 crore.
This information was shared by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar while replying to a question tabled by Curtorim MLA, Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco. As per information shared by Parrikar, for the 2017 assembly elections the state government has made payment to the extent of Rs 26.1 crore, while bills amounting to Rs 9.2 crore are under process.

The issue of availability of drugs was raised by several legislators who pointed out that the drugs are now not restricted to the coastal belt but have also reached the interior villages as well as and are being made available in schools and colleges.
