GRA has also given a two-day deadline to investigate the alleged manipulation by officials of Goa Meat Complex (GMC) on the slaughter of the cattle on May 30, failing which it has threatened to intensify their agitation.
GMC Chairman Lyndon Monteiro has refuted all allegations levelled by GRA and said they have followed all rules and procedures.
GRA President Hanumant Parab and other members on Tuesday demanded to know from the Ponda police why there is a delay in the investigation. They also shouted slogans inside the police station.
According to Parab, the three cattle that were brought on May 28 were slaughtered without adhering to procedures. The members also threatened to take law in their hands if justice was not done.
Speaking to media persons, Parab alleged that officials of GMC had slaughtered the three cattle without any proper certification on May 30.
“The vehicle that transported the cattle was registered in Karnataka and it didn’t posses the transportation certificate, which should be issued by RTO from the place from where bullocks are transported,” Parab said.
