The approval was granted to these three projects at GSIDC meeting held on Tuesday. Speaking to media persons after the meeting, GSIDC Chairman Pramod Sawant said, “We had a meeting today and decided to take up construction of a bridge between Loliem and Poinguinim in Canacona, and aquamarine amusement park in Benaulim and landscaping of the D B Bandodkar Road.” “The park at Benaulim is proposed to be set up on PPP module. As far as GSIDC s contribution to the project is concerned, it will be providing 11 acres of land. The cost of the project will be determined. We are looking for partners now. There will be no burden on the State government,” he informed. While the proposal for landscaping of D B Bandodkar Marg has been sent to the Corporation of City of Panaji for obtaining NOC, the proposal of the Rs 10-crore bridge between Loliem and Poinguinim has been sent to the State Government for approval. Additionally, GSIDC has also taken up renovation of government primary schools and government high schools, which is nearing completion. “We have already taken up nearly 300 government primary schools for renovation and nearly Rs 80 crore have been spent on the repairs and renovation,” he said.
