GSL pays Rs22.3 cr interim dividend to Indian govt

A cheque for Rs 22.3 crore towards an interim dividend pertaining to Government of India shareholding in Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) was presented to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh by GSL CMD Cmde B B Nagpal (Retd) on Wednesday.

Secretary (Defence Production) Raj Kumar and Additional Secretary Sanjay Jaju were also present on the occasion, states a GSL press note.

The interim dividend for Financial Year 2020-21 at Rs 3.75 per Equity Share of Rs 5 each, equal to 75% of the Paid-up Share Capital of the Company was declared by the Board of Directors of the Company on December 17, 2020.

This dividend has already been distributed to the shareholders in January, 2021.

“GSL is working hard to repeat the same performance and we thank our clients and the government for this performance,” stated Cmde Nagpal.
