Hage, Michael among top IAS officers shifted out of Goa

PANAJI

The top rung of Goa's bureaucracy got a bit of a shake up with the Union Home Ministry issuing transfer orders outside the State to five IAS and IPS officers among them the North Goa Collector Mamu Hage and GIPARD's director (training) Michael D'Souza.

Hage, a 2017 batch IAS officer, has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh and D'Souza, a Goa civil service officer promoted to the IAS cadre, has been posted to Ladakh.

Former South Goa Collector, Jyoti Kumari is the third IAS officer to be shifted out of Goa and is posted to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In addition, two officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre were also transferred out of the State. Shivendu Bhushan, IPS, who headed the Anti-Narcotic Cell and the Cybercrime Cell, has been transferred to Mizoram while SP (headquarters) Shekar Prabhudesai, IPS, has been shifted to Arunachal Pradesh.

Bhushan is a direct IPS cadre officer while Prabhudesai is a Goa Police Service officer promoted to the IPS cadre.

Meanwhile, two IAS officers who were in Delhi -- Sanjay Goel and Ankita Mishra -- have been transferred to Goa.

With Thursday's MHA order, Michael D'Souza, will join a bunch of Goa civil service officers who've left the State's shores following their induction into the elite AGMUT cadre.

In September last year, two more home grown bureaucrats -- Sanjiv Gadkar and Yetindra Maralkar -- had similarly taken off to J&K and Ladakh respectively.
