Heavy showers inundate MMC building area
Citizens caught unawares by the heavy showers seen stranded at the Margao Municipal building. The Margao Municipal building passage was inundated with water. Citizens had to wade through ankle deep waters. Captured by : Santosh Mirajkar

Heavy showers on Wednesday evening left the front passage of the Margao Municipal building inundated with water.

In fact, citizens were seen wading through ankle deep water in the Municipal passage in the evening. 

The heavy showers caught the citizens unawares as many were found stranded in the city. The showers finally subsided at around 8.15 pm before resuming again, disrupting normal life.

Meanwhile, kiosk owners operating at the KTC bus stand complained of water logging at the bus stand. In fact, customers were seen struggling to make it to the gaddas located at the bus stand.

Panaji: Days after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant claimed that 80 per cent of the accidents are due to drunken driving, the Aam Aadmi Party Goa unit has condemned the claim calling it "shocking" and "insensitive."Addressing the press conference, AAP leader Valmiki Naik stated that most accidents involve regular commuters and not intoxicated individuals.
